On July 26, multiple-trip alumni, longtime supporter (and Bob’s daughter) Sarah Fukumoto competed in the Bala Triathlon in support of Impact Romania. Our program has been a part of Sarah’s life since its inception over 10 years ago, and she was personally changed by her first trip to Romania in the early ’00s. Though she hasn’t been able to visit for a few years, she wanted her friends in Romania to know that she thinks of them daily and appreciates their love and hard work on behalf of our ministry. And so she decided to show her appreciation by racing (and running… and biking…) for Romania!

Sarah successfully completed the challenging course with a final time of 2 hours 14 minutes, raising over $1500 for Impact Romania through personal pledges in the lead-up to the race. A BIG thank you (and congratulations) Sarah!

We truly appreciate Canadian friends like Sarah who use their unique interests, talents, connections, and personal pursuits on behalf of our cause. In Sarah’s case, she combined two things she loves (physical challenge and Impact Romania) to do something meaningful for our ministry while achieving a personal goal. Transforming something that you are involved in into a fundraiser is a natural transition – and we can make it easy for you! If you have been inspired by Sarah, consider checking out our Impact Romania fundraising page to “Start a Fundraiser” yourself. Tell us your plan – we are more than excited to set up Impact Romania supporters to stay involved with our ministry in such a practical and necessary way.

Thanks Sarah – YOUR love and hard work is known and appreciated!
