From all of us at Impact Romania/Pas Cu Pas – staff, volunteers, and over 350 kids & youth we minister to in Romania – we want to express our HUGE gratitude to the Fukumoto Fitness community for their inspiring commitment to this year’s wildly successful “Burpees 4 RO” campaign. We are humbled, grateful and inspired by their unified and single-minded participation over the month of May – and we want them to know that thanks to their incredible investment of time, sweat, organization (and more sweat), the $22,500+ they have raised is enough to fund our ENTIRE Summer 2015 Program of Camp Discovery, mini-camps, and day trips to the water park! This will fund transportation for kids and caregivers; food and accommodations for kids, caregivers, and PCP volunteers; program supplies; water park trips; and more. What an outstanding accomplishment!
For many kids living in state care, our Summer Program is a huge highlight in their routine. Anticipated all year-round, this special time together helps support and emphasize the relationships these children have with our Romanian foundation Pas Cu Pas. This summer, kids will play, sing, learn, laugh, explore, and create in ways that strengthen positive relationships, promote personal and spiritual growth, and build resiliency. Ultimately, our hope for this time is that each orphan child knows their value, and that they are valued.
We are amazed and inspired to hear some of the inventive ways the Fukumoto Fitness community engaged throughout this campaign. From teachers bringing burpees to the classroom to mechanics bringing burpees to the shop – it’s clear that this is a community that truly believes that fitness (and life) is done better together. We are excited to start our summer program in just a couple weeks…
