Mike has over 20 years of youth ministry experience with Youth For Christ and Muskoka Woods Sports Resort where he is presently the Director of Staff Development. He has always been known to have compassion for children and so it was a natural progression for him to have an interest in Romanian orphans. Mike is also working on a master’s degree in Theology from Tyndale Seminary and first went to Romania in 2007. Mike’s wife, Tina, and children, Matt and Becky are also Romania Alumni.

Alexandra joined our staff in November 2011 and is from Baia Mare, Romania. She was born on January 22, 1989 and is a recent graduate with a Psychology degree. Alex is continuing her studies enrolled in a Masters of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy program. She helps out with administration, program, and mentoring young girls.

Monica is from Vaslui and came to Cluj where she completed her university studies in social work. Monica is very strong in mentoring girls “one to one” and is a great influence in the lives of our female volunteers. She has been married to Emi since 2005 and they have a son named Luca. Together, they are an inspiration and model to our orphan community.

Jenilee is one of the newest members of the Impact Romania family, having been warmly welcomed into her role this past summer (2011). Fresh off a three-year term as a Site Leader to young adults on Outtatown Discipleship School, Jenilee has grown increasingly passionate about facilitating experiences of learning, awareness, and growth in team and community environments and is very grateful and excited for the opportunity to continue in this way with Canadian teams for Impact Romania.

Jon has been involved with Impact Romania since our first trip in 2001, and has been back several times since. He is passionate about investing in the young adults on the Romanian volunteer team and serving orphan children. Jon also serves as an Elder at Chartwell Baptist Church in Oakville, Ontario. He is married to Rhondi Fowler since 2004 and works as an Electronic Medical Records System Administrator at St. Joseph’s Health Centre in Toronto.

Rhondi has been involved with Impact Romania since our very first trip in 2001. She has over 10 years of youth work experience and most recently was a youth pastor a Chartwell Church in Oakville, Ontario for 9 years. Rhondi has personally led or been a part of over 25 short-term mission teams all over the world. She is married to Jon Fowler since 2004 and is presently working on a master’s degree in social work.

Bob has worked in pastoral and discipleship ministry in the Toronto area since 1980. His passion is found in helping young people reach their potential in the context of “mission and community”. He has a Masters degree and over 25 years experience with youth. Bob is married to Jan, and they have 3 grown children: John, Sarah, and Erin.

Neil went to Romania in 2005 and came away with a vision to start a dental clinic. He and his wife, Pat, believe that their dental skills are a gift from God and as a result, they love to share them with those in need. Neil and Pat grew up in Toronto and moved to Ottawa in 1979 to begin their dental practice. They have 3 grown children: Noriko, Bryan, and Daniel.

Dina returns to the Romania leadership role after a 3 year absence. She brings a wealth of experience in ministry to the poor especially through
organizational leadership. She is passionate about advocacy for the poor and
growth in community. She is a founding partner in this program (2005).

Sergiu is from Baia Mare in north-west Romania. He will graduate with a Psychology degree in 2012. Sergiu hopes to pursue further studies in Psychology. He helps our ministry as an assistant with program, administration and mentoring young guys.

John first became involved with Impact Romania in August ‘08 and is now serving with us on an ongoing basis. He has lead two August teams and he also maintains the website. John was involved in youth ministry for five years while working for Muskoka Woods as the full time Athletic Director. Currently he lives in Toronto and works as a freelance web developer.
