Christmas Team 2011

Dates: Thursday, Dec. 1st – Sunday, Dec. 11th
Location: Cluj-Napoca and Beclean, Romania

Purpose of Trip: The purpose of Impact Romania is to disciple and develop (Psalm 78:72) Romanian orphans to grow in character and influence in the world. The Canadian team will be working alongside of the Romanian volunteers to bring a Christmas celebration to children who live in Romanian orphanages, hospitals, etc…

Cost: Approx. $2,400. Team members are able to raise funds towards this cost. All donations are eligible for tax receipts and will be processed through International Teams Canada. There will also be opportunities for people to contribute towards gift bags and fire wood.

Our Program: In Romania, we will be visiting various ministry locations (orphanages, schools, hospitals, and seniors homes) to deliver gifts and provide a short Christmas program for the people there.

Time Commitment: It is important that all team members take note of the following important dates:

  • Applications & $200 deposit due: Friday, Sept. 30th
  • Team Training Dates:
    • Saturday, Oct. 15th (9am – 12 noon, Chartwell Baptist)
    • Saturday, Nov. 12th (9am – 12 noon, Chartwell Baptist)
      This is the deadline for all gift bag donations and necessary paperwork.
    • Thursday, Dec. 1st Departure Day – time & location TBA
  • The Trip: Dec. 1-11, 2011
  • Post-Trip Reunion: Saturday Jan. 7th (10am – 12 noon, Chartwell Baptist)

Please note: Also in preparation for this trip, each team member will need to collect supplies for the gift bags and help prepare simple Christmas crafts, stories, and songs.

Christmas gift bag contents:

  • 1 towel
  • 1 long sleeve shirt
  • 3 pairs of socks
  • 3 pairs of underwear
  • Christmas card and photo (from the sender of the gift bag)
  • Do not add more or less

We’ll be assigning different gender/age groupings for collection to different team members, so please make sure to confirm with Jenilee which group you are collecting for before you start distributing bags!
