Alex Cupar’s experience as a volunteer

December 1, 2010

One of our volunteers Alex Cupar shares about her experience with Pas cu Pas. Alex is 21 years old and was born in Baia Mare which is a town in northern Romania. She lived there with her family until she finished high school when she moved to Cluj where she is currently in her last year of university studying Psychology.

It’s been a few months since I started volunteering for Pas cu Pas and I love it. It wasn’t something I planned and it wasn’t something I was aiming for this period of my life, but right now I feel I’m doing what I’m supposed to do. I was at a youth meeting and at the end of the service, Raluca, one of the volunteers, announced that the foundation is recruiting more volunteers and she explained a bit about how things are. We were a couple of friends who decided we wanted to go and check it out. We were presented the situation of the orphanages and it scared me a bit ...

Bob’s last week in Romania

November 14, 2010

Statues Greetings from Romania!

Just entering the last full week here and the time has flown by. We have had over 26 hours of "structure, strategy & planning" meetings with more to come. We have seen God work here and we are happy with what has been achieved. In addition to the meetings and Bible studies, Dorin and I have spent a lot of time together (poor Dorin) in amazing friendship. He truly is a man seeking God in what he does and who he is...

Update from Bob in Romania

Greetings again from Romania!

So far I have been involved in:
    • over 20 hours of meetings with Dorin and Monica
    • 3 weekly Bible studies
    • meeting with Dina
    • road trips to: Viseu De Sus, Sighet, Targu Mures, Beclean & Ilisua
    • working on some language study through a program that Rhondi
& Jon Fowler and I were doing together along with a Romanian tutor

I am also doing some reading, personal study & journaling. We have realized that the purchase of land for a ministry center would be pre-mature at this point as we have a lot of work to do in establishing the program and our system of leadership development and discipleship.

Bob’s first week in Romania

Hello friends,

I arrived safely last Thursday October 14. So far I have had lots of meetings and Bible studies as well as a nice meeting with Dina and then a young man named Victor (22 and pictured with me across from our office) whom I have known since 2001. He has lived at Prison Fellowship for 10 years. He is a very heroic orphan who is following Christ and is very motivated to help himself and his brother, Paul (17), who gets out of jail in 3 days after being incarcerated for 2 years. Victor’s story is one of God’s grace and redemption and I am compelled to be a small encouragement to him. He is attending university in Social Work while at the same time working full time at the Nokia plant for under $200 a month.

I am encouraged in general and have established a schedule for the next 3 weeks (out of 5) including meetings with Dorin & Monica and a road trip to “Viseu de Sus” on Friday and Saturday with stops...

September 27, 2010

As some of you may already know, our good friend Pardy spent this past summer in Canada. We asked him to share with us all how he spent his time and some things he learned during his trip. You can read below what he had to say about his experience followed by some photos from his trip:

I wanna share few thoughts with any reader because I really had a great summer and above all I wanna tell you how God blessed me in many ways. My name is Teglas Pardalian and I grew up in orphanage since when I had 3 years old, from that moment God has a plan for each of us, his plan for me is to worship him with my abilities and in this summer I felt how my skill moves to next level ...
