The May Team has wrapped up their ministry in Cluj, Romania and will be spending the next couple of days debriefing their experience in the capitol city, Bucharest.

Here are trip leader Mike’s most recent reports of how the team spent the last several days:

It is early Friday morning (May 20) as I write. It is looking like it will be a beautiful day. We have not had too many days like this so I am thankful for the warmth of the sunshine. We have just wrapped up 5 days of activity and this morning we will head back to Cluj and then on to our final mini camp. The time has passed quickly and I think the reality that it will soon be done is not lost on our team. They have been amazing and faced all challenges head on – whether that be language or unanticipated variables like weather, health inspectors, room size or #’s of kids. Yesterday we wrapped up with a cookout at Illisua orphanage with 60 children and then a cookout with about 70 children from Beclean. It was a great day.

Monday evening (May 23) — We wrapped up our final mini-camp session yesterday and spent the day today in Cluj. We have just returned from a farewell BBQ hosted by our friends here in Romania. We will depart for Bucharest by train in just over an hour. We have all experienced a full range of emotions over the past 48 hours as we have said goodbye to many friends. Whether you watch buses pull out of the driveway at Muskoka Woods or at a rural camp outside of Cluj, Romania – it is always powerful to see the faces of the kids as they wave goodbye with smiles and tears.

Thanks to this amazing team of Canadian young adults who have served with such passion, compassion, and enthusiasm alongside our team in Romania. Multumim!!
