Our July 2015 Team keep chugging along in “train”ing for our journey to Romania this summer – and though we may be a few boxcars less since last meeting, we’re on track and full of steam! Choo-choo.

At this stage in the training process our team is focused on deepening our teams connection, continuing to “catch” Impact Romania’s mission and vision, learning about the country and its context, understanding orphan issues, program planning, spiritual growth and development, and – of course – fundraising. It’s a lot to fit into one Saturday! Somehow, though, we managed to also fit in lots of laughs (LOL).

Through a particularly challenging* team-building activity, we gained perspective on the importance of maintaining the big picture in the midst of small or even “mundane” tasks – whether during training meetings, in Romania, or onward. “Connecting the dots” between our small acts of service/love and mission at large is essential to not only keep us focused and hopeful, but humble and faithful too.

*The main task was to form different shapes with string, while blindfolded (pictured below). Who could’ve predicted that the most difficult part of the entire exercise would be to achieve consensus on what defines a square! Are 90-degree angles enough? Must all four sides be equal?? Are all squares quadrilaterals??? Fortunately Miss Stanlake schooled us all and set us straight. Groundbreaking stuff!

We’ve still got months and meetings and dollars to go before we head to Romania this summer – check out our team’s fundraising page if you would like to support this enthusiastic crew. Thank you for following our progress!

Nevedem!
